About Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy
Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy is a scientific approach to Nutrition, well-being, and lifestyle, based on the holistic and naturopathic principle that every person is individual and so requires a personalised and unique nutritional approach to health.
Nutritional therapy focuses on the person as a whole, identifying the root cause of an individual condition by considering all aspects of someone’s life rather than focusing on the symptoms in isolation. Organic whole foods are used as ‘medicine’ to provide the right nourishment essential to growth and health, targeting all systems of the body such as:
And much more!
Nutritional therapy is not a substitute to medical care, and clients are encouraged to keep their GPs/ Private Consultants informed, especially if under any medication. Nutritional therapists are not allowed to diagnose but can suggest specific functional tests and refer to GPs.
What conditions is this treatment suitable for?
Nutritional therapy is suitable for anyone at any age. It is for those who:
- Want to gain a better state of health
- Want to manage certain health conditions, such as allergies, intolerances, autoimmune, chronic or degenerative conditions
- Improve their energy, digestion, hormonal balance, and fertility
- Want to learn how to better nourish their body
Laura has a great interest in gut health, believing, as Hippocrates quoted, “all disease begins in the gut”. She is a strong advocate of the body-mind and mind-body connection, and is passionate about learning about neuroscience, autoimmune and degenerative conditions, emotions, and energy balance. She has a special interest in female health. Her approach is gentle and caring but encourages all clients to make a commitment to themselves in order to achieve positive, long-lasting changes to their health and their lives.
Laura is a qualified Registered Nutritional Therapist, having graduated from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London in 2013. She is a member of BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) and is registered with the CNHC (Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council), the UK regulator for complimentary therapists.
In addition to her Nutritional work, she completed a foundation course in systematic Kinesiology, certified by ASK (the Association of Systematic Kinesiology), and is currently undergoing a diploma course. She is a level 1 and 2 Reiki and Seichem practitioner, and a member of RASA (Reiki and Seichem Association). She is also particularly interested in Back Flowers and essential oils, completing a certificate in Aromatouch Technique using pure and certified therapeutic-grade essential oils.
The initial consultation lasts between 1.5-2 hrs, including:
- A full case history, discussing main symptoms, health history, goals, diet and relationship with food
- A discussion on the different body systems, emotions, sleep, and much more
- A systematic Kinesiology muscle testing, useful to further investigate the root cause of the imbalance, as well as identifying food intolerances or specific nutritional needs
Following the initial consultation, a detailed and personalised nutritional plan will be sent, including suggested supplements and additional tests if required. A follow-up consultation is recommended 4-5 weeks after the initial consultation.
