About Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy focuses on the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of pain, injury, and movement dysfunction. Treatment is tailored to the individual and may include hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, and education to support both recovery and long-term results.

Physiotherapy is suitable for a wide range of conditions, from sports and gym-related injuries to postural issues, joint pain, and rehabilitation following surgery. At Chiropractic Health Centres, physiotherapy is delivered as part of a collaborative, patient-centred approach to care.

How Physiotherapy can help

Physiotherapy aims to not only reduce pain, but also address the underlying cause of symptoms. Treatment may help to:

•    Reduce pain and stiffness

•    Improve movement and flexibility

•    Restore strength and function

•    Support recovery following injury or surgery

•    Improve posture and movement patterns

•    Reduce the risk of future injury

Treatment plans are tailored to individual goals, whether that is returning to sport, improving daily function, or managing long-term conditions.

Conditions commonly treated

Physiotherapy may help with:

•    Sports and gym-related injuries

•    Muscle strains and ligament injuries

•    Joint pain (shoulder, hip, knee, ankle)

•    Back and neck pain

•    Postural-related pain

•    Tendon injuries

•    Post-surgical rehabilitation

•    Chronic pain and recurring injuries

If you are unsure whether physiotherapy is right for you, our team can guide you to the most appropriate care.

What to expect in a Physiotherapy appointment

Initial Consultation

  • Comprehensive physical assessment
  • Discuss treatment options tailored to your needs and expectations
  • Provide useful advice and coaching on long term self management, prevention of injury, or deterioration of health issues in the long term
  • Sabine is also able to refer her patients to an appropriate consultant and/or imaging for further investigation if needed.

Follow-up

Treatment may include a combination of hands-on therapy, exercise-based rehabilitation, and advice to support recovery and long-term improvement. Where appropriate, physiotherapy is integrated with other treatments available at the clinic.

In addition to physiotherapy, Sabine also offers acupuncture, which may be used alongside other treatment approaches where appropriate.

Acupuncture can be helpful in managing pain, muscle tension, and certain musculoskeletal conditions. When used as part of a physiotherapy treatment plan, it may support symptom relief and recovery.
